Power of the Tarot +

This was the very first Bizarre magic effect ever performed by The Black Hart and it is still in his act today, but now, after all these years the handling and script has been revised to make it even more simple to perform, with the added bonus that if you wish the volunteer can do most of the handling!

After the introduction the magician asks his audience if anyone is a non-believer in magic. Having found that person they are invited forwards to the altar. The magician shows cards with ancient Tarot symbols on them. There are two piles of matching cards but both piles are well mixed, this is seen as they are turned over in pairs.

The power of the Tarot is explained, and the volunteer is told that this will be demonstrated through them. One pile is freely chosen by the volunteer and handed to them. They are then asked to think of a number between 1 and 12, fan their chosen deck face up and to remove the card at their chosen number and place it face up on the table and place the remainder of their deck face down on the table.

The performer now fans the face down deck and counts down to the chosen number, removes that card and places it face down next to the volunteer’s face up card, and then they place the rest of his deck face down next to the volunteer’s deck.

The performer reiterates that the volunteer had a free choice of card, now face up on the table, and a card at the same number from the other deck was removed and is now face down next to the volunteer’s card. He also points out that both decks were randomly mixed up prior to the demonstration, however the tarot cards have a latent power and affinity for each other.

The performer asks the volunteer to turn over the face down card and it is seen to match the first one chosen by him.

The performer now asks the volunteer to turn over the face down cards in pairs. They do so and now the rest of the two decks are now seen to match.

This deceptively easy to perform effect is VERY powerful.  It can be used on it’s own or as a part of a psychic reading. Uses the distinctive Rider-Waite Tarot cards.

Cost: £15.00

This effect is dedicated to my pal Jim Moore who died in 2017. It was Jim who introduced me to the path that led me to what I do today. Jim was with me at the Blackpool convention when I purchased the effect that inspired Power of the Tarot.

Quantity:
Now comes with Rider Waite Tarot cards - and a new handling and script, even more simple to perform AND the ‘magic’ happens in the volunteer’s hands!

The Power of the Tarot, my latest BlackHart acquisition, is a superb effect. I have to admit it fooled me. I watched your video demo and I completely over thought this effect. I complicated a beautifully simple routine. It is devilishly clever and simple but the impact is so powerful.

Everything takes place right in front of the audience and ends clean - no switches, tricky sleights or gaffs to get rid of. All can be examined. This has become one of my "go to effects" along with "Draculea, "The Devil in Mind" and "The Exorcist".

The working is simple and that allows me to focus on the story. Power of the Tarot I perform with a Cuban/Caribbean theme. The cards once belonging to a high priestess. As always, the props, instructions and story routines are "top shelf".

I highly recommend "The Power of the Tarot" for anyone seeking a powerful card effect without difficult sleights. You can do no better than BlackHart Magic.
