Death’s Cold Kiss is a superb storytelling effect from The Black Hart. There are two versions that you can perform, one long and one short. There is a tale of a curse and the unforeseen consequences of a pact with Satan, and a traveller who is cursed to walk this earth forever.

Both presentations include a sad and macabre poem which you read as the ‘action’ takes place.

You show a set of major arcana Rider Waite tarot cards and remove the Death card. You then display the remaining tarot cards one by one. The Death card is then placed back in the deck with the other cards and is genuinely mixed up again. As the poem continues, you deal the tarot cards down onto the table one by one so that they can all easily be seen - but now the Death card has completely vanished!

There is no sleight of hand involved as the special gimmick does all of the work for you - you can concentrate on the presentation.

The full presentation is a thought provoking and melancholy tale with a message at the end for those who would ‘sup with Satan’!
